the thing they're not talking about are mitt romney's taxes. the idea that they can look back and talk about taxes and ryan still getting caught with these lies and then the next day saying that's exactly what we meant to say. how does this work, errol. >> a promise has been made. a big broad promise has been made to splash taxes. it's estimated by a reasonable objective source that this could cost treasury 5 trillion-dollar over ten years. a lot of people are naturally curious. where are you going to get that 5 trillion-dollar, and it's not in this ticket's political best interest to answer this question. let's say they can do this. the mortgage deduction is going to have to go. there are a number of important tax loopholes, if you want to call them that, or tax incentives that will have to be ended. this is not something they're prepared to talk about. politically you have to understand that. they have 27 days left. it's not in anybody's best interest to say we're going to hawk at the most important entitlement that they've had for generation

here's governor romney talking about the role you play. >> he's playing barack obama in these mock debates we have. i don't like him very much anymore. he keeps beating me up. i keep going away shaking my head. this guy's really something. you're lucky to have a guy so bright and capable. >> and this morning, washington post reporter dan balls called you the romney campaign's most valuable player for your roles as ohio point man and obama stand in. i assume you're thinking president obama will have more pep in his step on tuesday. how do you prepare? >> i think you're right. i think president obama is going to come out swinging. he'll have to compensate for a poor first debate. they've run a highly negative ad campaign. they've spent hundreds of millions around the country, including a lot in ohio, mischaracterizing governor romney's positions and misrepresenting him. i think you'll see that again on tuesday night. >> congressman ryan said something at the debate i would love for you to explain. here he is. >> joe and i are from similar towns. he's from scranton, pennsylva a pennsylvania,

earlier we talked about the polls and mitt romney on the mo move. mitt romney spent 90 minutes on the stage lying about everything he claimed to stand for prior to the debate. he lied about his tax plan, he lied about his health care plan, he lied about medicare and medicaid and social security, he lied about deregulation, he lied about jobs, he lied about education. think about this. after campaigning for 18 months on a tax plan for the job creators there that will reduce their taxes 20% on personal income, cut capital gains taxes and business taxes, romney stood on stage with president obama and denied all of that. he told the american people that he really didn't have a plan, which my friends, is completely a 180. after saying it, every campaign stop for 18 months that he would repeal obama care on day one, he stood before the american people and said his plan would take care of preexisting conditions. after the debate, his campaign admit admitted it would not. romney says his health care plan, which passed in massachusetts, would be good for sta

i have to tell you, i talked to a senior romney advisor about this pew research center poll and they look at a couple things here. in relation to these polls. they are looking at the enthusiasm that is coming out at some of their campaign events. i can tell you, we have been at several of these campaign events over the last several days and they are getting some big turnouts, sometimes in excess of 10,000 people, and while yes, that may not be obama campaign numbers, those are good numbers for mitt romney. another thing that they're looking at, they are looking at undecided voters. they feel like undecided voters, because of that debate being viewed by so many millions of americans last week, that mitt romney was able to reach through the filter of the media as they like to call it, ann romney referred to it that way in an event in florida last week, and beyond those campaign ads, the very nasty campaign ads coming from the obama campaign to talk directly to the american people, and they feel like that's a factor as well. they are also looking at what they call persuadable voters, th
